Together, let's celebrate entrepreneurship in Tamil Nadu – resilient, creative, and full of potential.

In August, we featured on the GoTN website people who followed their dreams and moved away from their professions – a hair stylist, a dentist-turned-wedding planner, a B2B food color supplier, and a pair of friends who are into reviving Anglo-Indian cuisine!

Women-Led Startups Redefining Tamil Nadu's Cauvery Delta
redline

Cities like Trichy and Thanjavur from the rice bowl of Tamil Nadu are now buzzing with entrepreneurial energy—fuelled largely by women founders at the forefront of innovation. These ventures span sectors such as edtech, agritech, food processing, handicrafts, e-commerce, and healthcare. What's striking is that Trichy alone now hosts 396 women-led startups, while Thanjavur supports 271—a remarkable indicator of how women are transforming the delta's economic narrative. The forces driving this change are institutional backing and ecosystem support, digital empowerment, shifting cultural norms, and pandemic-driven resilience.
